Walter “Tendernism” Johnson is bringing his famous food reactions to Indianapolis for the 3rd Annual Mike Epps Community Festival on Saturday, August 29.

Known online for his food reviews and signature “tendernism” reactions when meat falls effortlessly off the bone, Johnson will serve as a special guest judge for the festival’s official food competition. He’ll make his way through participating vendor tents and food trucks, sampling dishes and deciding who passes the Tendernism Test.

The competition will feature three categories: Best Wings, Best Barbecue and Best Specialty Item. Registered participating vendors will provide Johnson with a complimentary sample of their competition dish during his visit.

Finalists will be announced at 4 p.m., followed by the official awards presentation at 5 p.m. on the main stage.

The Mike Epps Community Festival takes place Saturday, August 29, beginning at noon at Washington Park, 3130 E. 30th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46218.
