Mayor Eddie Melton invites the community to one of the summer’s most anticipated celebrations honoring the legendary Jackson family. 2300 Jackson Street Block Party will take place at Roosevelt High School in Gary, Indiana, the free two-day event kicks off on Friday, August 29, celebrating Michael Jackson’s birthday with comedian Chris Tucker and a DJ lineup featuring DJ K Ceasar, DJ All OWT, and DJ Cheech Beats. On Saturday, August 30, Grammy winner Deniece Williams and iconic DJ Kid Capri will take the stage to honor the Jackson legacy. With appearances by Jackie and Marlon Jackson, live entertainment, food trucks, local vendors, and a kids play zone, this family-friendly festival is a vibrant tribute to Gary’s musical royalty.
