Youth and Legacy: The Legacy Center’s Youth Programs

The Madam CJ Walker Legacy Center is offering two opportunities both virtually and in person for the youth the participate in. The Summer Institute is a virtual camp to teach kids ages 6-14 about STEAM. This free event will be held July 8th until July 31st from 1pm to 2pm ET hosted by GRIFF and Jenisys. The program will have presenters from NASA engineers, Microsoft coders, and more. Families are encouraged to register online to secure a spot for their young learners in this empowering and educational summer opportunity.

Do the kids want to take over the city? The Legacy Center teams up with Sampson Levingston to offer free one-hour tours of the inside of the Madam CJ Walker building and along Indiana Avenue. These tours are scheduled to take place Tuesday through Thursday the entire month of July. The Walk & Talk experience is a powerful way to connect young minds to history through movement, conversation, and discovery. Attendees are welcome to stay for the power hour presentations. Families and groups are encouraged to registered here.
