Let Them Talk Coalition and the Indiana Black Expo Partners for the 2nd Annual Melanin Table Talk
On Wednesday, April 23, the Let Them Talk Coalition, in powerful partnership with Indiana Black Expo, is bringing the city’s heart and soul to the 2nd Annual Melanin Table Talk—a gathering as bold, brilliant, and necessary as the people it serves. Held at the Indiana Black Expo headquarters on Shortridge Road, this evening promises more than just talk—it’s a movement rooted in truth, transparency, and transformation. From 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, the community will dive into data-driven realities and real-life stories affecting our Black youth and families—from education gaps and mental health crises to youth violence and systemic roadblocks.
But let’s be clear—this ain’t just another panel. This is a call to action. Expect to witness a dynamic panel of grassroots warriors and thought leaders bringing insight and strategy. Parents, educators, youth, faith leaders, and advocates will gather under one roof to listen, learn, and lift each other up. We’re talking actionable tools for parent advocacy, real resources for mental wellness, and community tables that offer more than brochures—they offer hope.
The 2nd Annual Melanin Table Talk: State of the Black Community is all about creating a safe space for honest conversation, trusted information, and collective action. We designed this event to empower Black youth and families by addressing real issues—like education, mental health, youth violence, and policy changes—with real solutions. Our goal is to replace fear with facts, confusion with clarity, and isolation with connection. We’re grateful for the opportunity to bring our community together, uplift our voices, and continue building the village our youth deserve.
