Introducing SEED Lab

SEED Lab is a winter youth creative lab hosted by Midwest Leak. Created for young people to explore creativity without pressure, SEED Lab centers curiosity, self expression, and discovery rather than performance or perfection.

This two day experience provides space for youth to try new creative tools, collaborate with peers, and build confidence through hands on exploration.

What does SEED stand for?

SEED Lab is built around a simple but powerful progression:

Spark

We spark curiosity by introducing new ideas, creative tools, and inspiration that open youth to possibility.

Explore

Participants explore a range of creative expressions including art, media, storytelling, music, movement, and more.

Engage

Youth engage with the work and each other through guided activities, collaboration, and shared reflection.

Discover

Through exploration and engagement, youth discover interests, strengths, and creative gifts that may continue to grow long after the lab ends.

Who is SEED Lab for?

SEED Lab is for youth who are curious, creative, or simply in need of a positive and enriching space during winter break. No prior creative experience is required. All that is needed is a willingness to try, explore, and participate.

Why SEED Lab?

At Midwest Leak, we believe creativity is a life skill. When young people are given space to explore who they are and what they enjoy, they gain confidence, clarity, and a stronger sense of self.

SEED Lab is about planting those seeds.
