Auntie Shelley Covington Steps Out for the 6th Annual Warrior Walk to Support H.E.R. Living Campus

Community activist and beloved mentor Auntie Shelley Covington is gearing up for her 6th Annual Warrior Walk Fundraiser on Saturday, October 11, 2025. The 27-mile walk begins at 42nd and Mitthoeffer Road and ends at Meijer on Heartland Crossing Boulevard in Camby, Indiana. Covington’s powerful journey takes her through some of the most challenged neighborhoods in Indianapolis, a route she walks with purpose and prayer to raise awareness and support for H.E.R. Living Campus. Since completing her first Warrior Walk in 2012 as president of UNWA, Covington has dedicated her steps to various causes, including The Daughters of Sara Ministries. Now, as an administrator at H.E.R. Living Campus, she continues the tradition to help sustain more than 22 community programs.

This year’s Warrior Walk is deeply personal, dedicated to the memories of Mrs. Kathleen Johnson-Elmore, Mrs. Annie Steele, Mrs. Alice Covington, Baba Achebe Lateef, and Queen Mother Mashariki Jywanzaa, all of whom played powerful roles in shaping Indianapolis’ cultural and spiritual community. H.E.R. Living Campus, located on the Southeast side of Indianapolis for 19 years, is a Pan-African, solution-oriented institution that honors ancestors, educates youth, and restores families through immersive learning experiences. The campus offers a variety of programs for all ages, including camping, gardening, and cultural education designed to strengthen and uplift Black families.

Supporters can contribute to the cause through CashApp at $SageHouse, PayPal at FFPFitnessLLC@gmail.com, or Zelle at 317-760-7375. Donations are accepted before and during the event, including cash, checks, or money orders made payable to H.E.R. Living Campus until November 15.
