4200 Kory Moving Music and Community Together
4200 Kory is a true student turned master of Naptown’s hip hop culture, raised on the history of the city and driven to help unify a music scene long divided by invisible lines. Emerging during a pivotal post-COVID moment when Indianapolis began shedding its east versus west mindset, Kory credits that pause with creating space for deeper connection, collaboration, and pride across the city. Music first entered his life as therapy, beginning in his pre-teen years as a way to process grief after losing his father and navigating the weight of being the oldest of seven siblings. What started as emotional release grew into purpose as encouragement from family and friends pushed him to take his talent seriously.
Now 24, Kory’s impact stretches beyond music through albums, a documentary, youth engagement efforts, and community-centered initiatives shaped during his time at a JUCO in Baton Rouge, where he balanced basketball with a growing commitment to serving young people facing trauma. Back home, that mission continued through collaborations that led to Crossroads Crossover, a platform connecting youth, artists, brands, and grassroots efforts. For Kory, culture is meant to be embraced fully, from signature Naptown dances like the ‘Jiggalate’ to the humor of ‘Indianimals’, and his music reflects the layered reality of the city as a whole, not just one side. Grounded in self-awareness and service, his work blends music, community building, and personal growth, a commitment further reflected in his role in Juneteenth programming like The Jubilee Day Junction, which centers joy, access, and resources as Indianapolis continues to grow alongside him.
