Outta Chicago Gettin Gwop

gwop

Being from the middle of the map, I’m sure you had a variety of influences to develop your music style right?
I’m from Chicago, Illinois which is of course the best city in the USA. I’m from the westside, K-town area. My sound is a gumbo of many influences of hip-hop and rock, east coast, west coast, and down south. I cater to every crowd because there’s something for the trappers, and the hipsters, and the ladies so I’m definitely trying to bridge that gap that’s between each. I’m trying to create my own lane, but you can always expect a lyrical representation of Chicago streets and culture in every verse because I can only be me.

What makes you different from other rappers?
I’m different from most because I’m everything I say I am. I’m a leader in many ways. I’m not afraid to be different For instance on “GetGwop Season 1” I did songs with the cool kids and YP and GLC who I’m actually cool with, but I’m from the slums of the westside. I didn’t do the obvious. Different sides of town divide our city. I wasn’t afraid of the criticism of clashing our worlds.

What is Gwapgetterz Coalition or G.G.C.?
They’re the people in my immediate circle and honestly we met in the federal prison system. At 18 I was in the feds so I live by a certain code of ethics and morals. Most are from our gang cultures but others are accumulated through real life experiences. Gwapgettrz Coalition was actually thought of in a prison cell by a close friend of mine. As far as my production team Wildbeats Team I met them while I attended Columbia College when I was released from prison. They took me under their wing and help develop me as a producer.

I’m currently unsigned but I rep that Gwapgettrz Coalition or G.G.C (773) which is made up of people getting to money in all forms illegal, legal, music, and non-music but unified under the umbrella of real people making a real difference and having a good time doing so. We’re definitely some young, fly, money getting individuals.

When can we expect the next mixtape?
I’m working on “GetGwop Season 2” and a joint mixtape with GLC which is currently untitled and also a host of other features and tracks for other artists. You can go download the mixtape from a host of websites, like
Samhoody.com , Fakeshoredrive.com , Thatcrack.com,
Thisis50.com, and of course Datpiff.com. “Get Gwop Season 1” is hosted by DJ Big Mike. Or go on YouTube and Search Get Gwop but be aware of the frauds. Look for that light-skinned fly, flashy nigga throwing the G’s up.
